Ravens vs. Texans Prediction: NFL Week 17 Christmas Day Player Props

The Texans are off a tough loss in Kansas City on Saturday, and now have to make a quick turnaround to face the Ravens on Christmas Day in Houston. The Texans suffered a really tough loss to their pass-catchers, with Tank Dell suffering a season-ending leg injury for the second time in as many years.

While it’ll be a next-man-up approach for the wide receivers, I expect Dalton Schultz to step up here and absorb some of the extra targets, particularly in a favorable matchup. Schultz was heavily involved last week, hauling in 5-of-8 targets for 45 yards against the Chiefs — who allow the most yards in the NFL to the TE position. Baltimore doesn’t rank far behind, though. Through 16 games, the Ravens rank in the bottom-third of the NFL, giving up nearly 60 yards per game to tight ends.

Given matchup against Baltimore, combined with the nearly six targets per game that had been going to Dell, I think we can expect an above average game from Schultz in this spot. Already averaging just about 39 receiving yards over his last eight games, look for Schultz to exceed expectations on Christmas.

The Play: Dalton Schultz OVER 34.5 Receiving Yards (-115) – 1.5-units
