DECEMBER 23: George Pickens ($6,600) has missed three straight games with a hamstring injury, but the receiver fully practiced Monday and is expected to play Wednesday vs. the Chiefs. The decision is pending one final health confirmation, per Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac.
Pittsburgh’s passing attack has struggled mightily with Pickens sidelined, with the team averaging only 150.7 passing yards per game in these past three games. Pickens’ return comes at an important time, as the Steelers are still alive for the AFC North title with two games remaining.
Pickens is leading his team with a 27.7 percent target share this season, including 16 red zone targets and 25 targets over 20 yards. The latter ranks sixth in the NFL despite Pickens missing three games. Ever since Russell Wilson ($5,500) took over as the Steelers’ starting quarterback in Week 7, Pickens has recorded at least 16 FPTS in four of his six games with Wilson under center.
It is unclear if Pickens will be limited Wednesday, but if he isn’t, he will be a solid DFS option for the two-game NFL slate on Christmas. Pickens’ $6,600 salary on DraftKings is the cheapest he has been since Week 8 and Kansas City is a 2.5-point road favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. For the seven occasions Pickens has competed as a home underdog the last two seasons, he has been excellent with 21.9 FPTS per game.
