Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($15,300)
The second-year leap continues to rumble on for Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He’s currently fifth in the league in receiving yards and has ascended past DK Metcalf for the primary receiver role. New offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has weaponized JSN’s premier route running to help him feast over the middle. He does most of his damage after the catch, using quick movements to glide past defenders and fight for extra yards.
JSN has been a model of consistency in fantasy, crossing the ten-point threshold in his last eight games. His playstyle is dependent on receptions underneath, which bodes well with his consistent opportunity share. JSN has tallied 12 targets in consecutive outings, feasting regardless of the opposing secondary. He’s a budding superstar and has proven to be a viable high-upside play.
Keenan Allen ($14,700)
Despite a disastrous season in the Windy City, the organization has to be thrilled about the career resurrection of Keenan Allen. Even with over 1,200 yards during the end of his 11-year stint in LA, the Pro Bowl wideout seemed to have lost a step. His stats seemed to be a byproduct of being force-fed by a superstar signal caller as the only serviceable piece of a disastrous positional room.
Allen has come on of late, finding the end zone five times in the last five weeks. He’s scored over 20 fantasy points four times in that stretch, including dropping 31 while crossing the century mark in his most recent performance. Allen looks to have some juice back and is in his best form in some time. Seattle’s secondary got torched against Minnesota, and the veteran should be able to take advantage of the struggling unit.
Caleb Williams ($14,400)
Has Caleb Williams lit the NFL on fire as a “generational” rookie like Andrew Luck? Not quite. But if you can ignore the dramatic hype that carried him into the pros, Williams has shown flashes of a potential franchise cornerstone. He’s not without faults; he has a tendency to hold onto the rock far too long and misses far too many layup reads he was hitting with his eyes closed at USC. He has also shown some clear growth, making some dazzling throws downfield and flexing his effortless arm talent.
Williams has an intriguing DFS ceiling, putting up 26 points against a Detroit side that is third in EPA against the pass. Even if some of that came in garbage time, Chicago wants to develop their young quarterback and is happy to keep him under center, even if the contest is out of hand. When it looks good, he’s still a tantalizing prospect and is a more than tempting spot starter in your lineup.
