Butler exited this past Friday’s loss to the Thunder with an illness after only logging seven minutes. The former All-Star then sat out Saturday’s loss to the Magic, which was a 25-point comeback for Orlando. Now, Butler has been listed as questionable for Monday’s matchup vs. the Nets.
Butler has been a hot name in trade rumors recently and some fans speculated that this recent absence was related to him possibly being dealt soon. Nonetheless, if the wing remains out Monday, there will be a large void to fill for the Heat.
This season, Butler is averaging 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 31.4 minutes per game. The veteran is handling a 21.8% usage rate and if Butler is inactive, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro will both see notable boosts. With Butler off the court this season, both Adebayo and Herro’s usage rates have increased 2.3 percentage points. Furthermore, per 36 minutes, Herro is averaging 26.2 points and Adebayo is averaging 18.1 points with Butler off the floor.
Facing a Brooklyn defense that ranks 25th in efficiency this season, both Herro and Adebayo will be compelling DFS targets and players to consider for overs on their player props on the DraftKings Sportsbook if Butler sits Monday.
With Butler inactive this season, the Heat are 2-4.
