DraftKings Fantasy Football features two of the hottest teams in the NFC in Week 16. The DFS main slate may be in the books, but there is plenty of DFS action available for Sunday Night Football. Check out the NFL Showdown Slate DFS picks for the Week 16 Sunday Night Football matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys.

Captain’s Picks

Mike Evans ($15,900 CP): Will Evans score 40 DKFP again? Probably not. No one scores 40 fantasy points every week. Very few score 40 fantasy points. Evans does. And because he can, he’s the captain’s pick. No other player on this slate has his ceiling. Jalen Coker racked up 110 yards receiving on the Cowboys in Week 15. Ja’Marr Chase went for 177 yards the week before that. This is a big game and Evans is a big receiver. Chris Godwin and Cade Otton will both be sidelined. The Bucs’ playoff run falls squarely on the shoulders of Evans.

UTIL Plays

Payne Durham ($200): TE Cade Otton is out. Durham unlocks the entire DFS SNF Showdown Slate on DraftKings if he starts. Building lineups will be incredibly fun with the option of selecting every fantasy football stud. The question is whether Durham does anything. Durham is similar in build to Otton (6’6″ and 250 pounds). He plays around 30 to 40% of the snaps as Tampa’s backup tight end and runs about five routes per game. This isn’t a complete savings prayer. Baker Mayfield has targeted his tight ends 103 times to 255 for his receivers. Dallas doesn’t allow tight ends to hurt them. Their 55 receptions allowed are the second fewest, but Durham only needs a catch or two to work.

Brandon Aubrey ($5,200): Here’s a twist. If everyone takes the savings with Durham, kicker ownership will be very low. There is a scenario in which Durham puts a goose egg on the DFS scoreboard. That’s not the end of the world, but it is if selecting all of the expensive stars is not necessary. Aubrey provides savings and will score fantasy points on Sunday night. The Cooper Rush Cowboys can move the ball. Putting the ball in the end zone is a different story. Aubrey made three-of-four kicks in the Cowboys’ Week 15 win over the Panthers. All three field goals were from 40 yards out or further. He was one-for-two beyond 50 yards.

Jalen McMillan ($7,000): The rookie out of Washington could have been a first-round pick. He battled injuries in his senior year and for opportunities in a crowded receiving corps that saw two Huskies get drafted before him. He’s battling again. The pass-catching corps is deep in Tampa. It was before Chris Godwin went down. McMillan has been playing all season (77.4% route participation), but now he’s getting looks with Godwin out. McMillan seems to have earned Baker Mayfield’s trust. He caught four passes for 59 yards and two touchdowns in Week 14 and followed with five receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown in Week 15. With all eyes on Evans, McMillan will continue to receive less defensive attention and the opportunity to score fantasy points.

Fades

Cooper Rush ($8,600): There are plenty of savings options on the Sunday night NFL DFS slate on DraftKings. Rush can easily fit in NFL DFS lineups with high-priced picks. The Cowboys quarterback will have the ball in his hands every play and that’s how fantasy points are scored. The problem is those hands. Are DFS lineups in good hands with Cooper Rush’s hands occupying a precious showdown lineup slot? What if those hands hand the ball off? Rico Dowdle ($9,400) has been the revelation, not Rush. The Cowboys have won three of their last four games because Dowdle has rushed for 478 yards in those games.

THE OUTCOME

The Cowboys could be on a four-game win streak. The Cowboys could be a good team. “Cowboys could” is always the story. “Cowboys are” is the reality. The Cowboys are not a great team. The schedule has been kind to Dallas. It’s not as kind this week. The Buccaneers are not messing around. They have won four in a row.

Final Score: Buccaneers 30, Cowboys 20
