Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves will look to rebound from a lopsided loss to the New York Knicks when they host the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night in Minneapolis.
The Timberwolves were routed 128-102 at home, and Edwards voiced his frustration with the team’s offensive struggles following the defeat.
“We don’t have any identity,” Edwards said. “We know I’m going to shoot a bunch of shots. We know (Julius) Randle is going to shoot a bunch of shots. That’s all we know. We don’t really know anything else.”
Golden State is dealing with its own struggles after suffering a 144-93 blowout loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday, marking the largest margin of defeat in the NBA this season.

Edwards has been Minnesota’s primary offensive option, averaging 25.9 points and 4.0 assists per game this season. However, his production has dipped in recent outings, averaging 22.0 points and 3.3 assists over his last three games — a combined total of 25.3, falling short of the 29.5 line.
Regardless, in two prior meetings against Golden State this season, Edwards averaged 28.5 points and 3.0 assists, totaling 31.5 combined points and assists. Both of these games occurred in early December. Despite the Timberwolves’ offensive inconsistency, Edwards’ ability to rise to the occasion against Golden State suggests that hitting the Over is realistic.
Draymond Green, who played in the Warriors’ last game, is questionable with left ankle soreness. If Green is available, his defensive presence could make it more challenging for Edwards to reach this total.
The main factor for Edwards appears to be his inconsistent assist totals unless he scores at such a high volume that it doesn’t matter. However, he’s only had one 30-point game since scoring 36 against the Sacramento Kings on Nov. 15.
