Is Mike Gesicki a top value play on DraftKings if Tee Higgins sits in Week 16?

Is Mike Gesicki a top value play on DraftKings if Tee Higgins sits in Week 16?

After being limited at practice Wednesday with a rest/knee designation, Higgins ($6,800) is absent from the Bengals’ practice Thursday, per ESPN’s Ben Baby. Not practicing on Thursday ahead of a Sunday game is never an encouraging sign and if Higgins sits this Sunday vs. the Browns, there will be plenty of targets up for grabs.

Higgins is handling a career-high 25.8% target share this season, including 16 redzone targets in nine games. The receiver has missed five games this season and Geiscki ($3,300) has been the primary beneficiary when Higgins has been inactive.

In those contests, Gesicki has operated as Joe Burrow’s ($7,500) number-two option behind Ja’Marr Chase ($8,500), with Gesicki garnering a target on 27% of his routes—including six redzone targets—while running a route on 60% of his team’s dropbacks. With this excellent usage, Gesicki has produced 15.0 FPTS per game.

Going against a Cleveland defense that is yielding the sixth-most yards per pass this season (7.0), Gesicki would be an elite value play and arguably the best tight end option on the board if Higgins is inactive.
