Geno Smith ($5,700) injured his knee last Sunday vs. the Packers, but the quarterback told the media Thursday that he expect to play in this Sunday’s crucial matchup with the Vikings. With only three games remaining, the Seahawks are still alive to win the NFC West title, currently tied with the Rams for the division’s top seed at 8-6.
Smith won’t be full healthy and he has struggled to be viable fantasy asset recently, with less than 17 FPTS in six of his past seven starts. This season, Smith is averaging 7.5 YPA, but he owns a subpar 14:13 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Smith’s 13 picks ranks third in the NFL and he ranks 24th of 40 qualifying quarterbacks in FPTS per drop back (0.43).
Smith’s matchup is also unappealing, going against a Vikings defense that is giving up the 10th-fewest yards per pass (7.0) and that is blitzing at the highest rate in the league. When under pressure this season, Smith has thrown eight picks. In this spot, Smith is not appealing start for any fantasy format in Week 16.
On the DraftKings Sportsbook, Seattle is a three-point underdog vs. Minnesota.
