Riding a four-game winning streak, the Denver Broncos will visit division rivals the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Thursday Night Football. A win for the Broncos would clinch their first playoff berth since winning the 2015 season’s Super Bowl, thereby breaking the second-longest active postseason drought in the NFL. The Chargers sat above Denver prior to last week’s 40-17 upset home loss to the Buccaneers, where Justin Herbert threw his first pick since Week 2, snapping a streak of 357 interception-free attempts. That was the Chargers’ worst defensive performance of the season, allowing 40 points and 506 total yards. Denver’s defense was at its ball-hawking best during last week’s 31-13 win, forcing the Colts into five turnovers, most notably a 50-yard fumble recovery touchdown by Nik Bonitto. The first meeting between these teams this season went the way of the Chargers 23-16. They’ll be desperate to repeat that as they look to stave off a trio of teams chasing them for a wild card spot.
