The Chargers are hosting the Broncos for Thursday Night Football of Week 16. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Los Angeles is favored by 2.5 points and this game’s total is set at 42 points.

Gus Edwards Under 38.5 Rushing Yards (-110)

Gus Edwards has struggled mightily as the Chargers’ lead rusher with J.K. Dobbins (knee) sidelined. With the back inactive for the last three games, Edwards has started, but he has stayed under 38.5 rushing yards in all of these contests, for a modest average of 30.3 rushing yards per game.

Edwards has seen 60% of the Chargers’ running back carries, but this has only translated into eight carries per game and a low 40.5% snap rate for the veteran. This is result of Los Angeles relying on their passing game with Dobbins out. In these past three games sans the back, the Chargers have thrown the ball 65.6% of the time, which is a huge increase from their 55% average for the season.

This season, Edwards is averaging a career-low 3.4 YPC, which ranks 55th of the 61 running running backs that have seen at least 50 carries this season.

Facing an elite Broncos defense this Thursday that is giving up the second-fewest yards per rush this season (3.9), Edwards’ struggles should continue and he needs to be backed for under 38.5 rushing yards.
