Best Anthony Davis prop bet for December 19

The Lakers are visiting the Kings on Thursday night, one of the 13 games that is taking place in this post NBA Cup world. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Lakers are 4.5-point underdogs with LeBron James (foot) listed as questionable to play.

Below, I have featured my favorite Anthony Davis prop to consider from this contest.

Anthony Davis Under 27.5 Points (-110)

The presence of James can not be overstated here. In 2024-25, when sharing the court with LeBron, Anthony Davis owns a 28.9% usage rate. When James is sidelined? That usage rate jumps all the way up to 36.4%. If James doesn’t end up playing on Thursday, this is probably a stay-away spot. However, with three days off since the Lakers’ last contest — and the team playing again in Sacramento on Saturday — I’m leaning towards James suiting up this evening.

The Kings have actually been a pretty solid defensive team this season and their strength has been limiting opponents’ opportunities at the rim. To wit, Sacramento is surrendering just 44.1 points in the paint per contest — the third-lowest mark in the NBA.

It’s also worth noting that while Davis does have some massive scoring performances in recent games, he’s failed to hit this over in 10 of his last 17 starts. The All-Star is one of the league’s best offensive talents, but in a difficult matchup, I’ll side with the under.
