We’ve reached the finale of the NBA Cup, as the Milwaukee Bucks and Oklahoma City Thunder will meet in Las Vegas on Tuesday night in the Championship Game. Let’s breakdown this primetime matchup and dish out a best bet below.
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Even with some key pieces rotating in and out of the lineup through the first couple of months of the NBA season, the Thunder have continued to consistently play basketball at an elite level. While those of us that follow the league are familiar with just how good this OKC squad is, Tuesday night in Las Vegas is the perfect chance for this team to have a coming out party on the national stage.
The Bucks are playing pretty well right now, but don’t really matchup well with the Thunder, outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo. I expect OKC to really limit the rest of Milwaukee’s core and frustrate them on defense. Meanwhile, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and company should be able to get out in transition and put up some points on this Bucks team. Milwaukee’s transition defense struggles and times, and I think OKC will find ways to pick it apart in the halfcourt.
I felt preseason that the additions of Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein were the perfect winning pieces to get this young team over the hump. This is the first instance that we should really see that payoff in a big game. I’ve got OKC winning and covering in the NBA Cup Final in Vegas.
PLAY: OKC -4.5 (-115) 1.5-units
