Donovan Mitchell looks to continue leading the Cleveland Cavaliers as they visit the struggling Brooklyn Nets on Monday night in search of their 23rd win of the season.

Mitchell has averaged 23.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists this season. He scored 24 points in Cleveland’s 105-100 victory over Brooklyn on Nov. 9 and will likely be a focal point in Monday’s rematch.

Here’s a featured Donovan Mitchell prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook to consider for this matchup.

Donovan Mitchell Over 23.5 Points (-110)

Mitchell averages 23.6 points on the season, making this line a tight one, but there’s plenty of reason to consider the over. He has proven capable of delivering in key moments, as seen during Cleveland’s fourth-quarter rally in their first meeting with Brooklyn.

Risk is involved, considering he’s coming off a 20-point performance against the Wizards on Friday. However, the Nets trading point guard Dennis Schroder diminishes their on-ball defensive capabilities — making it easier for Mitchell to put up a high volume of points.

The Cavaliers will be without Max Strus again after he had momentum toward making his season debut on Friday against the Wizards. However, his return has been delayed after how his ankle responded following a week of “pretty hard” practices. Mitchell will need to provide more firepower with one less scoring option on offense. Not having to integrate a player into the rotation helps in the short-term for Mitchell’s scoring outlook.

With Mitchell averaging 9.4 points per game on pull-up jumpers, there is a real variance in his output depending on whether his shot is falling. Regardless, the Nets’ defensive vulnerabilities should enable him to attack the paint frequently to put up a high tally of points.

Brooklyn has allowed opponents to shoot at least 50% from the field in four of its last seven games, including a season-high 57.4% in a recent loss to Milwaukee. The absence of key scorers like Cam Thomas and the departure of Schroder further complicates the Nets’ ability to keep pace.
