After a bye week last week, Daniels should have a lot of confidence and be the healthiest he has been all season.
The Commanders opened as significant favorites over the Saints on Sunday and that line jumped even further in Washington’s favor when it was confirmed that Jake Haener would be the starting quarterback for the Saints this week. The Commanders have been one of the best rushing teams in football this season. They rank 2nd in offensive EPA/rush and offensive rushing success rate. This week, they are facing a New Orleans defense that is 29th in defensive EPA/rush and 30th in defensive rushing success rate. So, Washington has a massive advantage on the ground and should take advantage of it.
My favorite prop bet for this game is Jayden Daniels to go under 214.5 passing yards. Washington should be able to completely control this game on the ground, including Daniels himself using his legs. Washington should also take a pretty commanding lead in this game early on and will want to just control the clock and avoid mistakes by keeping the ball on the ground. New Orleans is 7th in the league in defensive EPA/dropback so there is no point in forcing the ball downfield when you hold such a significant advantage on the ground. These factors should lead to Daniels staying under his listed rushing total.
