Captain’s Picks

Josh Jacobs ($17,100 CP): The industry experts say, “Don’t look at game logs!” Noobs and Normies trust game logs. Only the experts know the gnostic truth. They understand the advanced data. Their simulations and analytical models can unlock the mysteries of NFL DFS. It’s not that complicated. Jacobs has scored over 20 DK FPTS in four straight games as the Packers push toward the playoffs. Seattle has a below-average run defense. Jacobs is getting the ball. The objective in real-life football is to put the ball in the end zone. Jacobs gives the Packers their best chance. He moves the ball and scores the ball. Real-life points mean fantasy points. Save yourself time. Take the obvious pick sitting in front of you.

UTIL Plays

Zach Charbonnet ($9,000): Both defenses are above average against the pass. They’re not quite as strong against the run or limiting the productivity of running backs. The Packers have allowed 70 receptions to running backs — five fewer than the most — and 566 receiving yards (fourth-most). Charbonnet had a big week on the ground in Week 14 (22 carries for 134 yards) and in the air. He caught all seven of his targets for 59 yards.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($8,800): The Packers aren’t easy to pass against. The regular Packers won’t be suiting up. Two members of their secondary will be out: CB Jaire Alexander and S Javon Bullard. CB Corey Ballentine is questionable. JSN is breaking out. The former Ohio State star is having the sophomore season that many elite elite receivers experience. He’s scored over 19 DK FPTS in four of the last five games. The Seahawks have won four games in a row. Their success is directly connected to Smith-Njigba building rapport with Geno Smith ($9,800). The Smiths’ success should continue on Sunday night given the state of the Packers’ secondary.

Noah Fant ($3,600): If it’s Sunday night, then it’s tight end time. Showdown slates are won with touchdowns. Volume is expensive. NFL DFS lineups can feature some stars but shooting stars are necessary. A cheap flyer or two is required. The cheap offensive option is always the tight end. Fant averages a handful of targets every week. He does not have a touchdown this season, but he’s been targeted in the red zone. It could be better. It could be worse. The Packers have been exposed by tight ends for 77 receptions and 812 yards.

Fades

Jayden Reed ($8,000): The Packers’ receivers will not enjoy soft coverage on Sunday night. CB Tariq Woolen is one of the best in the NFL. Devon Witherspoon (2023 No. 5 Overall NFL Draft Pick) shuts down the slot and Reed works from the slot. Witherspoon has allowed over 100 receiving yards once this season (Amon-Ra St. Brown in Week 4). The slot has not been open against Seattle. Reed hasn’t been a consistent producer for the Packers. His quarterback is still developing. There are safer picks with more upside.

THE OUTCOME

The Seahawks have won four in a row. The Packers have won seven of the last eight games. Both have played soft schedules. Wins are wins. Seattle is a surprising home underdog. Take the dog at home. Enjoy the added points.

Final Score: Seattle Seahawks 23, Green Bay Packers 20
