PG/SG Payton Pritchard ($5,700)
If Payton Pritchard continues to be grossly undervalued, he’ll remain a staple of these DFS pieces. The undersized combo guard has been a revelation in his fifth season, already cementing himself as the runaway favorite for the Sixth Man of the Year Award. Opportunity ignites success, and Pritchard has maximized his expanded role. He’s playing six more minutes a night and nearly doubled his attempts from beyond the arc.
Pritchard is a flamethrower from downtown, shooting 43.2 percent from deep. He’s not just a stationary shooter — Pritchard is a master at creating space and firing over larger defenders. His fantasy ceiling actually comes from his other stats. Pritchard has developed into the primary backup ball handler and has tapped into his collegiate playmaking to see an uptick in assist output. For his size, he is also a solid rebounder and is privy to crashing the glass.
Pritchard gets to face a woeful Washington squad that is fully in tank mode. These matchups tend to warrant him a neon green light and should be a must-start.
PF Jonathan Kuminga ($5,700)
Kuminga is at the forefront of the identity crisis. The former lottery pick is a mainstay in the rotation, but his position in the roster hierarchy is wildly volatile. Kuminga is a victim of not progressing at the rate the organization wants. The forward has played better as of late as he tries to establish himself as a viable paint scorer.
Kuminga is not afraid to get the ball up, taking at least 15 shots in five consecutive outings. He does a bulk of his work on the low block, bullying through defenders and using his elite athleticism to get to the cup. He’s also been trying to stretch the floor, showing a willingness to launch from distance. His efficiency has been spotty, but his confidence and scoring traits are too tantalizing to give up on.
Kuminga squares off with a Dallas group that has been vulnerable down low. He scored 16 points last meeting and has a great chance to do even more this go-round.
