What If…? comes to an end this holiday season. The first Marvel Disney+ animated show has more seasons than any other Marvel Disney+ show to date, and it’s helped usher in a new era of Marvel animated shows — including Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
This new Spider-Man series will be the last animated show before we return to live action. Let’s get into some of the key details.
What date does the first episode drop?
The first episode of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man drops on January 29, 2025.
Any relation to the Spider-Verse?
No. In fact, this isn’t even set in the main Marvel continuity. While still part of the MCU, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man takes place outside of Earth 616.
While this show could be plenty of fun, this does seem like Marvel Disney making a play at the Spider-Verse’s massive popularity and the long wait between Sony’s movie releases.
Casting details
Peter Parker is our Spider-Man in this story, but Tom Holland will not be the voice. Instead, Spidey will be played by Hudson Thames, who voiced the character in What If…?
A couple of MCU actors will appear in this series, with Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio set to play Daredevil and Kingpin again, respectively.
From there, we have a whole different cast of actors playing familiar characters:
- Colman Domingo as Norman Osborn
- Hugh Dancy as Otto Octavius
- Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May
- Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn
- Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln (aka Tombstone)
- Paul F. Tompkins as Bentley Witman (aka Wizard)
- Grace Song as Nico Minoru
What is the next live action Marvel show?
