UPDATE: Guerendo is active for Thursday.
Guerendo was on his way to a career day last Sunday vs. the Bears before leaving late with a foot injury. He would finish with 78 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns, while adding two catches for 50 yards through the air. Patrick Taylor replaced him in the fourth quarter in San Francisco’s blowout win.
Guerendo did not practice Monday or Tuesday, but was upgraded to limited on Wednesday, and Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that 49ers latest RB1 plans to play Thursday night vs. the Rams.
If he does suit up, Guerendo is underpriced in DraftKings Showdown contests at just $8,400, especially when you factor in his expected workload. The Rams just got torched for 42 points by the Bills last week, and rank 19th in the league in FPTS allowed to opposing running backs.
In addition, this is pretty important for season-long fantasy leagues, as it’s the first week of the playoffs for many. If Guerendo is in fact active on Thursday, he’s absolutely a must-start in a game that features a 49.5 total.
