Will Jauan Jennings score a touchdown on Thursday Night Football?

The race for the NFC West is coming down to the wire, with all four teams separated by just two games heading into Week 15. Thursday Night Football will see the 49ers and Rams battle to keep their seasons alive, with the loser all but eliminated from postseason contention. San Francisco enters the contest as three-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the over/under set at 49.5 points.

After weeks of poor play, the 49ers took out some pent-up anger last Sunday in a 38-13 beatdown over the Bears. While one win might not be able to save 6-7 San Francisco, it’s enough to give the team hope heading into Thursday’s pivotal showdown. Most encouraging was the play of Brock Purdy; the quarterback threw for 325 yards and two touchdowns.

The man on the receiving end of those two scores? Jauan Jennings. The wide receiver has been a pleasant surprise for San Francisco, filling the void left by Brandon Aiyuk’s season-ending torn ACL and MCL injury. Through 11 games, he’s hauled in a team-leading 57 catches to go along with 774 yards and six touchdowns.

This season, the Rams have been one of the NFL’s worst secondaries, giving up the ninth-most passing yards in football (224.7 YPG). That was on full display in Week 3, when Jennings recorded a monster eleven-catch, 175-yard, three-touchdown performance against Los Angeles. Much of that production was a result of injuries to Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, but it’s clear that Purdy has a high level of chemistry with the fourth-year pro.

Samuel and Kittle have each scored one touchdown over their last four games vs. the Rams. With that in mind, there should be less defensive attention on Jennings in this matchup. Expecting another multi-score masterpiece is unrealistic, but could Jennings find the end zone one more time? In a game that could produce plenty of points, I’m willing to bet on it.

The Play: Jauan Jennings anytime touchdown (+160)
