In the midst of a nice bounce back season, the 34-year-old Lillard has been a pivotal part of the Bucks’ bounce back from a disastrous start to the season. He’s currently averaging 25.7 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 7.5 APG on 45/37/91 shooting splits. He’ll have a tough task tonight as he wrestles with the Magic defense, which currently ranks third in the NBA. The Magic, while depleted, still have some strong perimeter defenders in Jalen Suggs and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Points 24.5 (Over -125 / Under -105): Lillard is coming off a confusing game in which he only attempted 7 shots in 39 minutes against the Brooklyn Nets. In the four games prior to this, Lillard put up 25 or more on good shooting numbers. I guess that’s a quick reminder of how much variance is involved in trying to determine these things; Lillard put up 31 points against the Celtics but only 15 against the Nets. Who would’ve thought.
He will have trouble tonight against the Magic’s perimeter defense. The Bucks will lean heavily on superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to do much of the damage inside, where the Magic are particularly vulnerable without their two star wings. They have nobody who can feasibly deal with the pressure that Antetokounmpo will be able to apply near the rim, an area in which he is shooting 75.7% on massive volume. This season, he’s looked as unstoppable as they come, and the Magic will have to concede these points while doing the best they can to stop the bleeding from the outside.
Threes 3.5 (Over -110 / Under -120): Lillard is averaging exactly 3.5 makes this season from beyond the arc. Orlando is currently ranked third in fewest three pointers allowed by opponents this season, a reliable indicator of the strength of their perimeter defense and emphasis on shutting down the three. Few can stroke it from deep like Lillard can, and his pedigree for sniping from the outside is undeniable, but Orlando has proven they can defend against long-range artillery fire. They’ll smother him and hope he doesn’t get hot.
