Here are my top betting picks for today’s only NBA game involving the New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors, tipping off at 7:30 p.m. EST.
Knicks -6 (-108)
The Knicks come into this game after a disappointing 120-111 loss to the Pistons on Saturday. They trailed by as many as 17 points and couldn’t recover. They could be without their star center, Karl-Anthony Towns, who remains questionable with knee soreness. However, Jalen Brunson has set the tone and will be key for New York to get back on track.
The Raptors, meanwhile, are coming off a 125-118 loss to the Mavericks despite a solid second-half push. The Knicks have dominated the Raptors in their previous meetings, including a 4-0 sweep last season, so New York should be able to cover the -6 spread in this one. Toronto has shown inconsistency at home, and the Knicks will look to bounce back with an improved performance tonight.
Knicks-Raptors Under 231.5 (-112)
Both teams have struggled with their offense in recent games. The Knicks have tended to start slow, and while they have explosive offensive players like Brunson, they’ve also been prone to slow stretches. Conversely, Toronto has seen their offense stall at times, particularly in the first half of games. Considering the defensive nature of both teams recently and their offensive inconsistencies, the under on 231.5 points seems like a solid pick for this matchup.
Jalen Brunson Over 26.5 Points (-105)
Jalen Brunson has been the driving force for the Knicks lately, and with Towns questionable, he will likely need to shoulder even more of the scoring load tonight. He has averaged 25.4 points per game this season, with eight games with 27+ points. He will need to continue to elevate the offense regardless of Towns’ status as the Knicks look to avoid a second consecutive loss. Given the stakes, Brunson appears primed for another strong performance tonight.
Scottie Barnes Over 7.5 Assists (-148)
Scottie Barnes has been a key playmaker for the Raptors in a point guard role, averaging 7.8 assists per game this season. His playmaking has been vital to Toronto’s offense, and he’s coming off a 14-assist performance in the loss to Dallas. Barnes has been playing great basketball, and with the Raptors needing to rely on his passing to generate offense, expect him to surpass the 7.5 assists mark again.
Gradey Dick Over 15.5 Points (-115)
Gradey Dick has been stepping up for the Raptors, averaging 18.4 points per game this season. He is coming off a strong 27-point outing against the Mavericks and has proven to be a consistent scorer for Toronto. With the Knicks likely focusing on stopping Scottie Barnes and other key players, Dick could be in line for another productive scoring performance, making the over on 15.5 points a solid bet.
