The Week 14 Monday Night Football contest between the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys is the “D’oh!” Bowl. The two teams couldn’t be more fitting for the Simpsons alternative broadcast. The 2024 season has been one long Homer Simpson “D’oh!” for the Bengals and Cowboys. Both struggle to get wins but they hit props. Check out the Week 14 matchup breakdown and some of the best bets you can take on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Cincinnati Bengals -5.5 (-108)
This is a big line for a 4-8 road team. It’s hard to trust the Bengals but it’s much harder to have faith in the Cowboys given the state of their roster. The Bengals pile up points but struggle to close out games. Closing matters on the road. A door left open at your opponent’s house results in losses. It’s a backdoor cover at the very least. The Bengals have been pretty conscientious. They shut the back door. Cincinnati has covered in its last four games as favorites of four or more.
Both defenses stink. Dallas is 26th in Expect Points Contributed and Cincinnati is 30th. Offense is a different story. Joe Burrow leads the league in passing yards and touchdowns. Chase Brown has been a revelation. He averages 4.5 yards per carry and catches passes out of the backfield. The Bengals’ receiving corps goes without saying. The Cowboys go without saying, or do they? Cooper Rush can’t compare to Joe Burrow, but Rush and the Cowboys have won two in a row. It’s not so much Rush but the rush of Rico Dowdle that is propelling the Dallas attack. Dowdle has over 200 yards in two weeks but that was against weak run Ds. The Bengals are below average against the run but not nearly as porous as the Commanders and Giants. The edge is with Cincinnati.
Tee Higgins Anytime TD Scorer (+120)
Joe Burrow has 30 TD passes. There are still five games left in the season. Someone is catching a TD pass on Monday night and it’s not Bart Simpson. Higgins has six red-zone targets in the last two games and a touchdown in each.
The Cowboys’ All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland has looked great since returning from injury just before Thanksgiving. That won’t likely be Higgins’ problem. Bland has been shadowing No. 1 receivers. Higgins will dig in with Trevon Diggs. This has been a down season for Diggs. He’s earned a below-average grade at Pro Football Focus. This isn’t too surprising. Diggs became an established cornerback by making picks not for his coverage. The final piece of the cornerback puzzle is Jourdan Lewis. The Cowboys’ nickelback exclusively covers the slot and is one best in the NFL. This should funnel more targets to Higgins.
