Bengals vs. Cowboys Prediction: Player Prop Parlay Picks for MNF

Updated:

By: Julian Edlow

Monday Night Football between the Bengals and Cowboys features two teams having extremely disappointing seasons. Technically, both teams are still alive to try and make a late push here, so this is a must-win game if either of these teams want to save their season. The Bengals have been so close to getting over the hump week after week, and Joe Burrow is having a monster season, but the defense has tons of issues. I lean to the Bengals finally finishing one off here, but prefer some props to taking a side in the game.

I haven’t bet this game yet, and if I do I’ll be sure to post my play to Twitter. But looking at this game, two player props ultimately jumped out to me if you’re looking for some MNF action.

The first one is a spot that I’ve targeted often this season, which is running backs going up against the Cowboys. Dallas ranks 31st in rushing yards allowed this season at nearly 150 per game, and the number somehow blows up to over 180 per game allowed in home games. With Zack Moss on the shelf, Chase Brown is operating as the lead back for Cincy, and has been providing results. Brown took over the RB1 role in a similar matchup against Carolina weeks back, and finished that game with 15 carries for 80 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns. Over the last four weeks, Brown is averaging 79.5 yards on the ground, but Monday night represents by far the best spot he’s been in yet. That has me leaning to Brown OVER 74.5 Rushing Yards, which has steadily been climbing since the number came out. With his rushing attempts prop set at 17.5, it’s safe to project a pretty steady workload for Brown in Dallas.

On the other side of the game, the Cowboys are going to have to trust Cooper Rush through the air. The rushing attack for Dallas has been abysmal this season, ranking 31st in the NFL in rushing yards. Meanwhile, the Bengals rank 27th in passing yards allowed, including a whopping 414 last week from Russell Wilson. Rush’s passing yardage prop is set at a pretty modest 234.5 for this game, and the matchup dictates that the Cowboys should sling it in this spot. Rush did manage 354 passing yards against Houston and 247 passing yards at Washington in recent starts, and if the road favorite can get out ahead in this one, the game script would set up nicely to attack the weak spot of Cincy’s defense. I lean to playing Rush OVER 234.5 Passing Yards here.
