Evan Mobley sprained his left ankle and won’t return against the Miami Heat on Sunday, Dec. 8.
The fourth-year forward suffered the injury in the first half as the Cavaliers trailed 59-51 at halftime. There isn’t a timeline for his return yet.
Before exiting, Mobley had four points, three rebounds and one steal in 12 minutes of action. Georges Niang will receive increased minutes with Mobley out.
Mobley is averaging 18.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 blocks per game on 55.9 percent shooting and 40.7 percent from distance this year.
