Steph Curry Best Prop Bets for December 8

Amid the 12-game NBA Sunday slate, the Golden State Warriors will face off with the Minnesota Timberwolves. This will mark the second consecutive matchup between these two teams with the Timberwolves producing a 107-90 victory in the first game.

Steph Curry and company made a recent decision to send Draymond Green to the bench and pave the way for Jonathan Kuminga to join the starting lineup, showing the youth movement the organization is attempting to accelerate. The Warriors’ superstar is still playing at a high level and the franchise is desperately trying to build up another contending roster around him in a competitive Western Conference.

De’Anthony Melton remains out following his ACL surgery while Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody are listed as questionable for the Warriors. The Timberwolves will be without rookie Rob Dillingham due to an ankle injury and Joe Ingles due to a calf issue in this matchup.

The Warriors enter this game as one-point favorites and hold -115 odds on the moneyline. The Timberwolves hold -105 odds on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook and the game total is set at 216.5.

Here is the best Steph Curry prop for tonight’s matchup.

Curry’s props are listed at over/under 24.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 4.5 made three-pointers, and 34.5 combined points, rebounds and assists.

Steph Curry Over 4.5 Assists (-110)

During Friday night’s matchup with the Timberwolves, Steph Curry was limited to 23 points, four assists, and two rebounds. He shot just 6-17 from the field and was 3-9 on three-point attempts while connecting on all eight of his free throws.

Minnesota is a defensive-minded team. While they have not reached quite the peak they did last year, the Timberwolves rank 4th in opponents’ points per game, 5th in defensive efficiency, 5th in opponents’ total rebounds, and 9th in opponents’ field goal percentage. They have several rangy, athletic defenders who each have their flashes defending the perimeter and do an excellent job funneling players into the interior where four-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert makes his impact felt.

As is typically the case, Curry will be at the epicenter of everything the Warriors do offensively. While he does an excellent job moving off the ball to create shots, Minnesota is better equipped to combat this than most teams. Curry has been held to under 24.5 points in two of the past four matchups with Minnesota even while attempting 21+ shots in the three games before Friday’s matchup. Only attempting 17 shots on Friday may also be a bit telling.

Instead, look for Curry to impact the game with his playmaking. He has done an impressive job creating shots for others this season, averaging 6.5 assists per game. The 10-time All-Star has recorded over 5.5 assists in 11 of the 17 games this season and five of the past eight games.

If Golden State is to have any sort of pulse in the postseason, they need some of their younger talent to take the next step. This has clearly been a focus for the team as evidenced by their decision to inject Kuminga into the starting lineup and the level of opportunity being afforded to players like Brandin Podziemski.

Expect Curry to make the most of his shooting gravity and use to it create for others. While it is overshadowed by his shooting, Curry is still plenty talented as a playmaker and has averaged as many as 8.5 assists per game over a season in his career. He will continue to be at the heart of everything the Warriors do offensively, but look for Curry to get things done with his passing tonight and record over 5.5 assists for the 12th time this season.
