Puka Nacua missed a big chunk of the season with injury issues but he has returned to form over the past few weeks. Over his past four games, Nacua is averaging 98.5 receiving yards per game. Nacua also has two touchdowns in his past three games, including last week against the Saints. Nacua finished fourth in the league in receiving yards in his rookie season last year. In the past few weeks since getting fully healthy, Nacua is getting back to those types of numbers, and the Rams will need a big game from him against the Bills.
The Bills have been one of the best teams in the NFL this season. However, one place you can attack them is through the air with underneath throws. The Bills rank 18th in the league in defensive dropback success rate. They do a great job of defending the run and limiting deep shots, however, they are allowing opponents to stay ahead of the sticks and methodically move the ball through the air. Nacua is a great possession receiver and the Rams have no hesitation to throw the ball a lot.
My favorite prop bet for this game is for Nacua to go over 6.5 receptions. Nacua has cleared this number in three of his past four games, averaging 7.5 receptions per game over that stretch. Opposing teams are throwing against the 49ers on 58.6% of their offensive plays, tied for the 10th-highest opponent passing rate in the league. The Rams throw the ball on 59.7% of their offensive plays, the eighth-highest percentage in the league. The Rams should come with a pass-heavy approach in this game and take the easy throws underneath. That should lead to Nacua grabbing at least seven receptions in this game.
