Here are Justin Jefferson’s current prop bet odds at DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 6.5 receptions and o/u 85.5 receiving yards. Jefferson is +100 to score a touchdown, +650 to score 2+ touchdowns and +600 to score the first touchdown of the game.
Jefferson is having another monster year for the Vikings despite working with a new quarterback this season. He is second in the league in receiving yards and has already secured his fifth-straight 1,000-yard receiving season with plenty of football still to play. That being said, by Jefferson’s standards, he has been a bit inconsistent. There are a few factors that play into that, including the emergence of Jordan Addison as a legit WR2, the increased run game action with Aaron Jones, and some down games for Sam Darnold.
I am betting on Jefferson to go under 85.5 receiving yards in this game against the Falcons. Jefferson has gone under this number in seven out of 12 games this season and had gone under this number in three-straight games before last week. Jefferson is simply not getting the same level of action that he used to get with Kirk Cousins. Last season, Jefferson had double-digit targets in 70% of his games. This season, he has double-digit targets just once in 12 games.
The Falcons should be able to defend Jefferson pretty well with an elite cornerback in A.J. Terrell, who has been able to slow down opposing WR1s all season. As a team, the Falcons rank 12th in defensive dropback success rate and they have also done well limiting explosive passes. Atlanta has given up just 29 passes of 20+ yards this season, the fifth-fewest in the NFL. In every game where Jefferson has had 86 or more receiving yards this season, he has had a reception of at least 27 yards. If the Falcons can restrict those deep shots, then Jefferson should stay under this number.
