Week 14 ends with a prime time matchup between the Bengals-Cowboys. Let’s go over some ways you can build your Showdown lineups on DraftKings.

Captain’s Picks
Chase Brown ($14,700): When looking for a captain play, most are going to gravitate toward Ja’Marr Chase ($17,400). But, his price tag is tough to do that. Pairing him with Joe Burrow ($10,200) takes a lot from your $50K total salary. You can do it, but I’m looking to use Brown, who is positioned for a big game against a poor Cowboys run defense.
The Cowboys have been brutal against the run. On the season, they’re allowing an average of 4.9 YPC, a 13.2% explosive run rate, and 3.3 yards per carry after contact. Even after only taking 12 carries last week, Brown still went for 70 yards and a touchdown against the Steelers last week. He’s also see a big uptick in target lately, averaging 6.2 per game over the past month. An 11 target game in Week 10 helps that average but he’s seen at least five in three of those games. I’m not sure he’s going to be targeted much in this game against the Cowboys but he’s truly been the all around back for the Bengals. With the bit of savings from Chase, he’s my favorite Captain play in this game.
FLEX Plays
Jake Ferguson ($5,400): After a two week absence, Ferguson will suit up in Week 14. Before being injured in Week 11, Rush saw a total of 16 targets in three games with Cooper Rush under center. Rush has shown he likes going to his tight ends, as Luke Schoonmaker saw 20 targets without Ferguson on the field.
This is a great matchup for Ferguson to come back to as well. The Bengals have allowed the fourth-most DKFP, sixth-most catches and receiving yards to opposing tight ends. The only knock on Ferguson is his lack of red zone presence. He has yet to draw a red zone target with Rush under center. But, they’ve only played together for two full games. If there was ever a time for him to get into the end zone, this would be it.
Brandin Cooks ($7,000): Cooks returned last week after a lengthy absence from the Cowboys lineup. Playing in his first game since Week 4, Cooks saw seven targets but only managed three catches for 16 yards. He did score to salvage his day and ended with 10.6 DKFP. Granted, CeeDee Lamb was out for the second-half of this game. So, I’m not convinced Cooks will draw seven targets again. However, this is a struggling Bengals secondary and the Cowboys are likely going to be pass-heavy in this game. This game is likely a stars and scrub type build to fit in some of the higher priced guy. Because of this, Cooks can easily get lost in the shuffle.

Andrei Iosivas ($4,400): In a perfect world, we could roster all the studs in this game. Chase, Higgins, Burrow, Lamb, easy! But, that’s not happening, so we have to click some guys to fit SOME of these studs in. It’s a wasteland in the lower salary range, where no one really stands out as a must play. I’m not thrilled about playin Iosivas, but he’s a viable option in this range. Even with Chase and Higgins active last week, Iosivas drew four targets and made three catches for 35 yards and touchdown for 12.5 DKFP. He’s not a reliable option by any means, but you’ll need to save to fit the studs in.
