Week 14 is here, and despite a bunch of teams on a bye week we still have an 11-game slate set for Sunday. That will be followed by the struggling Bengals and Cowboys on Monday Night Football. DraftKings Sportsbook has tons of prop bets to explore, but below are some of my favorites for this weekend’s action.
OVER Picks
TE Brock Bowers Over 70.5 Rec Yds (-115)
The Raiders don’t do much right as an organization, but it looks like they hit a home run with their first-round pick from 2024. Bowers is fourth among all players in receiving yards this season (884) and has four touchdown grabs as well. He is coming off his best game of the season, catching 10 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown on Black Friday against the Chiefs. The Raiders didn’t get the W, but Aidan O’Connell made it crystal clear who his favorite target is after starting his first game in over five weeks. Bowers was targeted a whopping 14 times in the loss.
Las Vegas plays the Bucs on Sunday, and it should be another big game for Bowers. Tampa Bay has been getting shredded through the air all season, as they rank 30th in the NFL against the pass. Expect O’Connell to go back to the well and continue force-feeding the rock to his superstar tight end.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Over 33.5 Rec Yds (-125)
It’s been a tough season in Tennessee, but the emergence of Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has been a bright spot. He did not record his first catch of the season until Week 5, but it’s been all upwards since then. Westbrook-Ikhine has hit the over on this total in five of his eight games this season and has hit the over in three straight games.
He also has a knack for finding paydirt, as his eight touchdown grabs this season are tied for fourth-best in the NFL. This total is so low that I prefer to take his receiving over, but his +195 anytime touchdown scorer odds are also worth taking a look at on DraftKings Sportsbook.
TE Jonnu Smith Over 50.5 Rec Yds (-115)
Another tight-end pick! Jonnu Smith has been flying under the radar and is quietly having a very good season. Despite the tough matchup this week against the Jets defense, Smith has been too good to ignore this prop bet. He has hit the over on this number in three straight games, and that includes two 100+ yard receiving performances. His 648 yards so far this season are the fifth-best mark in the league among tight ends.
Smith has been especially impressive recently, hitting the over on this number in five of his last eight games, and that includes two games in the mid-40s. 50.5 is not a big enough of a total for a guy who has been dominating for the last two months.
UNDER Picks
QB Mac Jones Under 200.5 Pass Yards (-115)
Mac Jones did an admirable job filling in for the injured Trevor Lawrence last week, throwing for 235 yards and two scores. However, now the Titans’ defense can gameplan for Jones specifically, which should make things more difficult. Jones had started two games earlier this season and didn’t look great as he was held to 138 passing yards or lower in both contests and threw no touchdowns to three interceptions.
This could be a tough outing for Jones, as the Titans hold the best-passing defense in football. Tennesse only allows 171.8 pass yards per game, so it’s hard for me to imagine that Jones will have a better-than-average day against a great secondary. This is by far my favorite under-bet of the weekend.
QB Bryce Young Under 196.5 Pass Yds (-115)
People are going to start to think I’m a Bryce Young hater, but I promise I’m not. He is coming off of two of the best games of his short NFL career, but I am still fading him in this spot. Why you may ask? This is not as much of a knock on Young as it is respect for the Eagles’ defense. I have a hard time envisioning Young going over this total on the road in Philadelphia, against a top-three passing defense.
Philly only allows 178 pass yards per game, so it would take either a great performance by Young or a bad performance from the Eagles to allow him to get over this total. Despite the recent success, he has only gone over this total in three of his seven starts this season.
RB Gus Edwards Under 34.5 Rush Yds (-115)
This seems like a low total for a starting running back, but the split carries among the L.A. backfield last week is a cause for concern. In Week 13, the Chargers played their first game without J.K. Dobbins, and Edwards only carried the ball six times for 32 yards. Kimani Vidal carried four times, while Derius Davis and Haasaan Haskins both received one. There are simply just too many mouths to feed in this Chargers backfield.
Edwards will likely lead the team in carries again, but if that only results in six, it’s just not going to be good enough for this total. To make matters worse, the Chargers play the Chiefs who have the third-best rush defense in the NFL. Edwards has his work cut out for him on Sunday night to get over this total.
