It’s conference championship weekend in college football, and there will be some amazing performances on display. Here is how to bet on those player props on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Georgia vs. Texas: Oscar Delp Anytime Touchdown (+450)
The SEC Championship Game should be an incredible rematch between Georgia and Texas. Georgia dominated Texas in the regular season matchup and Texas will want revenge to secure that first-round bye. Georgia tight end Oscar Delp had the nearly impossible job of replacing Brock Bowers this season. Delp has had a pretty disappointing season, even ignoring those standards. He has only had more than two catches in a game once the entire season. That being said, he has become Carson Beck’s go-to target in the red zone for the last several weeks.
Delp has four touchdowns over his past three games. To put that into perspective, he only has seven catches over that three-game stretch, so over 50% of his receptions have been touchdowns. Georgia has found success going with what appears to be a power run formation and then running play-action and leaking the tight end out. At +450, there is a lot of value on Delp to get into the endzone in the SEC Championship Game. I am backing OC Mike Bobo and QB Carson Beck to continue this trend and hit Delp for his fifth touchdown in four games.
Iowa State vs. Arizona State: Carson Hansen Anytime Touchdown (+100)
The Big 12 Championship Game is an exciting matchup between two teams that didn’t think they would be in this position earlier this season. Arizona State has a lot of hype coming into this game as one of the hottest teams in the nation, but Iowa State has an entertaining offense to watch as well. Hunter Dekkers is one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the country. They have an incredible WR duo in Higgins and Noel, plus an incredible running back trio led by Carson Hansen.
The Cyclones have three running backs with at least 89 carries this season, but Carson Hansen is the main man. The other two backs have just two touchdowns apiece, while Hansen has 11. Hansen’s role has grown as the season has gone on, and he has only gotten better. He has nine touchdowns in his past seven games and has had some huge games in terms of yardage over that stretch as well. Arizona State is 76th in the nation in defensive EPA/play and Iowa State should be able to move the ball on them. There will be multiple chances for Hansen to find the end zone in this pivotal game with a playoff spot on the line, so I will back him to do so at +100.
Clemson vs. SMU: Cade Klubnik Anytime Touchdown (+100)
It has been a bizarre week for Clemson. They lost to their rivals, South Carolina, which appeared to end their season on a sour note and eliminate them from playoff contention. However, a few hours later, Syracuse gave them a massive gift by upsetting Miami and knocking Miami out of the ACC Championship Game. That spot has now been filled by Clemson, and they will face SMU with a playoff spot on the line. Clemson’s offense has been really up-and-down this season with their productivity, but one thing that has been consistent is Cade Klubnik’s running ability.
Since Week 3, Klubnik has used his legs effectively, averaging around 44 rushing yards per game. Over the past three weeks, Klubnik has used his legs to find the end zone. Both of Clemson’s touchdowns last week against South Carolina came on Klubnik runs, one on a designed run and one on a scramble. Clemson will call a few runs per game for Klubnik, especially in the red zone, and Klubnik isn’t afraid to just take off if he sees a gap, which is how he scored his 50-yard game-winning touchdown against Pittsburgh. Klubnik should use his legs again in this game and find the end zone.
Penn State vs. Oregon: Tyler Warren 70+ Receiving Yards (-110)
After beating Maryland last Saturday, Penn State expected to have a few weeks off before the first round of the College Football Playoff. However, they got to the locker room and saw the result of the Michigan-Ohio State game, which pushed them into the Big Ten Championship Game against Oregon. The Penn State defense is one of the best in the nation, but at times, they have struggled on the offensive side of that ball. That being said, Tyler Warren has been Penn State’s best offensive player all season.
Warren has ten total touchdowns this season and is averaging 81.5 receiving yards per game, the second-most yards per game of any tight end in the country. Over his past four games, Warren has been even better, averaging 93.25 receiving yards per game. In this massive Big Ten Championship Game, Penn State should just try to get the ball into Warren’s hands as often as possible. Oregon has a vulnerable run defense, and Penn State should be able to move the ball on the ground a bit against them. That will open up the play-action passing game where Warren is incredibly dangerous. Warren is averaging well over this number on the season and over the past month, so he should hit it again in their biggest game of the season.
