I need to stress off the top that this won’t be an easy matchup for the former MVP. Not only does Cleveland sit eighth in the NBA in defensive rating (110.4), but it has the raw size to combat Jokic in the form of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. Still, I think there’s some value in this particular prop at plus-money.
Volume is rarely an issue with Jokic. Honestly, the big man barely ever leaves the court. Jokic enters Thursday’s action ranking third in the league in minutes per contest (37.6). He’s also equipped with a staggering 30.1% usage rate that is the highest mark on the Nuggets. However, to understand the real scope of Jokic’s control of a game, you have to analyze touches. Jokic averages 113.2 touches per start. For context, only five other players are averaging over 90 touches per game and none of those five are even close to 100.
As you can imagine, this leads to some pretty impressive stat sheets for Jokic, and he’s managed to hit this over in 12 of his last 15 games. Heck, Jokic is averaging a triple-double for 2024-25 as a whole. Even if he simply reaches those averages, he’ll be well over 50 points, rebounds and assists for tonight’s tilt.
