Jayson Tatum ($10,000) missed his first game of the season Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup vs. the Bucks in Boston. Kristaps Porzingis ($7,500; injury management) and Al Horford ($4,900; toe) are also questionable, while Jrue Holiday ($5,100; knee) has been removed from the Celtics’ injury report and will play.
Tatum is leading the Celtics with a 31.5% usage rate this season and if he is inactive again, all the Celtics’ key players will see notable boosts, especially Jaylen Brown ($8,600) and Derrick White ($7,100).
With Tatum out Wednesday vs. the Pistons, Brown stuffed the stat with 28 points, nine assists and six rebounds (53.5 FPTS), while White posted a double-double of 14 points and 14 assists (46.5 FPTS). With Tatum off the court the last two seasons, Brown’s usage has increased to a team-high 34.5% and he is averaging 28.2 points per 36 minutes, while White’s usage has risen to 24.4% and he is averaging 20.8 points per 36 minutes.
Both Brown and White will be elite DFS options if Tatum sits and attacking their overs on the DraftKings Sportsbook will also be a very sharp move.
While Brown and White will be the primary targets if Tatum is sidelined, Payton Pritchard ($5,800) will also need to be your radar. The guard is currently a -250 favorite on the DraftKings Sportsbook to be crowned the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year and he posted 19 points, five rebounds and four assists across 34.2 minutes off the bench (33.75 FPTS) with Tatum out Wednesday. With a 19.8% usage rate, Pritchard is averaging 19.8 points per 36 minutes with Tatum off the floor the past two seasons.
