On the heels of an unusually quiet performance in Tuesday’s 104-93 loss to the Suns, Victor Wembanyama (back) has been ruled out for Thursday’s contest against the Bulls. It’ll be just the fourth game that the reigning Rookie of the Year has missed in 2024-25.
Zach Collins has started all three of the other games that Wembanyama has been sidelined for. The former lottery pick didn’t log an absurd amount of playing time in these contests — he averaged only 24.4 minutes — yet Collins also produced 16.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per start. He will likely step back into the Spurs’ starting five on Thursday.
Wembanyama leads San Antonio in points per game (23.5) and usage rate (31.1%), so his absence will be felt heavily throughout the roster. Devin Vassell owns a team-high 30.0% usage rate with the sophomore off the court this season, so he’s another name to circle for season-long fantasy and DFS. Vassell actually looked quite good in Tuesday’s defeat, scoring 25 points on 10-for-14 shooting off the bench.
