The Lakers have lost five of their last seven games as they head into Wednesday night’s matchup in Miami. There was initial optimism that Austin Reaves (pelvis) might be able to return after a two-game absence, as he was initially listed as questionable, but he was eventually ruled out Wednesday afternoon. With Reaves out again, D’Angelo Russell ($4,900) will get a chance to continue his recent resurgence and be a solid value option in the backcourt.

Russell is coming off a nice 20-point performance on Monday as he returned to Minnesota. He added five assists and a steal to finish with 33.75 fantasy points in a game that the Lakers lost by almost 30 points. He was the team’s leading scorer and knocked down four three-pointers for the second game in a row.
In each of his last four games, Russeell has scored over 15 points and finished with over 27 fantasy points. With Reaves off the floor this season, Russell has gotten a boost of almost four percentage points of usage and produced 1.09 fantasy points per minute.
The Heat are only a slightly positive matchup for point guards, but D-Lo’s recent hot streak is enough to make him a good play under $5,000 if he’s back in the starting five in place of Reaves.
