Father Time catches up to all of us, including LeBron James. King James is coming off one of his worst games of his professional career on Monday in Minnesota, shooting just 4-of-16 from the field and scoring 10 points. Social Media let him know just how bad he was, as LeBron stayed in the game late to get to double-digits and continue his historic 10-point streak. Most reactions to his performance were that “LeBron is washed.”
James is in the midst of a terrible shooting slump, and has failed to reach 20 points in five of his last six games. Welp, I’ll buy low here and say that LeBron is not washed, in somewhat of a narrative spot. James pays attention to these things, and I’m sure is aware of the reaction his poor performance sparked. I think we should get an aggressive version of LeBron in this game, not only to prove himself, but also to get a Lakers team on track that’s now lost five of its last seven games.
It doesn’t hurt that the stage happens to be set in Miami for a reunion of sorts. James enjoys going back to his old stomping grounds where he won his first two championships, and has played very well there in his returns. Since becoming a Laker, LeBron has made five trips to Miami, averaging 33.8 points, and scoring no fewer than 27 in a game.
With noise surrounding if LeBron still has it, I’ll step in and play the over on his point total in a get right spot.
