The Unabated NBA team, led by industry veteran Justin Phan, currently projects Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler to have a 50% chance to play today at home versus the Lakers. While he’s currently the subject of some trade rumors and innuendos, Butler is officially questionable with right knee soreness after he missed Miami’s last game.
Butler hasn’t been up to his usual standards this year with only 22.1% usage and a 24.1% assist rate en route to 1.06 DraftKings Points Per Minute. That said, his absence opens up a ton of potential possessions for the remaining Heat players if he were to miss the game.
If Butler plays tonight, Unabated NBA projections team would have him expected to put up 18.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists. He’d be a borderline tournament play on DraftKings tonight.
If Butler misses tonight’s game, his teammates would see the following impact to their projections:
- Tyler Herro projects for 23.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.6 assists (22.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists if Butler plays)
- Bam Adebayo projects for 17.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 5 assists (16.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists if Butler plays)
- Duncan Robinson projects for 11.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists (10.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists if Butler plays)
Herro and Adebayo already project well tonight versus the Lakers if you assume Butler plays. If Butler misses the game, these two would likely become major chalk in DFS tournaments tonight on DraftKings at Herro’s $7,600 and Adebayo’s $8,000 salaries.
