After only winning 14 games during the 2023-24 season, the Detroit Pistons have started the season 9-13. The Pistons are currently the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. The East is tight this season, as the Pistons are only two games out of the sixth seed. Detroit lost their previous game to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, 111-96, but looks to bounce back tonight against the 10-9 Milwaukee Bucks at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Cade Cunningham’s improvement has dramatically affected the Pistons’ growth this season. He has increased his scoring, rebounds, assists, and three-point percentage from last season. He is averaging 23.5 points, nine assists, and 7.2 rebounds while shooting 37.5 percent from deep. In each season of his professional career, Cunningham has continued to refine his game.

Cade Cunningham over 8.5 assists (-130)
One area that Cunningham has greatly improved in is assists. He averaged 7.5 a game last year and is at nine this season. He is fourth in the NBA in assists per game. He has had six straight games with double-digit assists! Cunningham has also had at least 10 assists in nine of the previous 11 games.
Since he has been on fire assisting his teammates lately, it was surprising to see his over/under set at 8.5 assists for tonight’s game against the Bucks. It is -130 for Cunningham to record more than 8.5 assists on DraftKings Sportsbook.
A big reason for Cunningham’s improvement has been his usage rate increasing to 37.4 during the last two weeks. Throughout this season, he has a 31.5 usage rating, which is ninth in the NBA.
The Pistons played the Bucks once this season, on November 13. The Bucks beat the Pistons 127-120 in overtime, but Cunningham scored 35 points, 11 assists, and seven rebounds. Milwaukee is on a six-game win streak heading into tonight’s matchup with the Pistons. Cunningham is averaging 36.3 minutes per game, nearly three more than last season. This is the best prop bet of all the options for Cunningham tonight, as he has had at least nine assists in 11 straight games.
