There’s a bit of disarray over in Minnesota. Anthony Edwards has called out his team for poor miscommunication and lack of focus. The oft-discussed Julius Randle/Karl-Anthony Towns trade, predictably, hasn’t looked good for Minnesota. Julius Randle is an awkward fit on this roster and his presence forces the Wolves to adjust their game. Edwards is now launching a career-high 10.9 attempts from beyond the distance per game, a valiant effort that’s catapulted him into 27.7 PPG. He’s putting forth another All-Star season, and potentially an All-NBA one. With the Timberwolves sitting at 9-10 and 11th seed in the West, they’ll continue to rely on their young super star for all the offense they can get from him. Let’s watch him carve up the Lakers tonight.

Points 27.5 (Over -110 / Under -120): The Lakers are currently the 26th ranked defense in the NBA, which is surprising given their defensive anchor in Anthony Davis. Edwards will hunt for his shot aggressively tonight in a big game against Los Angeles as he continues rolling, averaging 26.6 PPG over his last five games. In three of these games, he faced top-10 defenses in the Clippers, the Rockets, and the Celtics. That’s no problem for Ant, whose usage sits at a healthy 30.7% this season, a bit down from his 32.3% from last season. Regardless, he’s going to attack the Lakers both from distance and in close-range this game. The Lakers are 20th in the league in opponent 3 point percentage, and surrender a ton of points to opponent offenses.
Threes 3.5 (Over -154 / Under +120): He’s hit four or more triples in four of his last five games and looks poised to keep firin’ away all season long. Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert are both players who lose efficacy the farther they are from the rim, so Ant’s driving lanes don’t seem ideal this season. Given the volume and the percentage he’s shooting this season, I’d be comfortable going over this 3.5 mark tonight, especially against Los Angeles’ defense.
