Yes, Davis’ scoring hot stretch has hit a wall, and he hasn’t been as consistent scoring the ball. However, Davis is still a rebounding machine and has been one since entering the NBA. Davis is seventh in the NBA in rebounds per game with 11.5 but is less than two from Nikola Jokic (13.2).
Davis has totaled more than 11.5 rebounds in four of the previous six games. Davis has hit that mark in 10 of 19 games this season. Even though Davis is going up against fellow elite rebounder Rudy Gobert, he found great success against him in their previous matchup. Gobert is averaging 11.2 rebounds per game, 1.7 fewer boards than last year.
Since Davis hasn’t consistently scored the ball throughout the past two weeks, getting Davis over in rebounds is a good play.
