Courtland Sutton ($15,300)
Courtland Sutton has quietly been one of the season’s most consistent fantasy receivers. Lingering injuries and impressively poor quarterback play have hindered his career trajectory. A clean bill of health and a stud signal-caller have helped Sutton ascend to a premier option and an unguardable weapon outside the hashes.
The 29-year-old has five straight outings with at least 14 fantasy points, including a pair of games crossing the century mark. He does plenty of damage downfield, climbing the ladder to snatch contested balls out of the sky. Sutton is also technically sound near the sticks, a go-to guy at critical junctures that can create enough separation to be a trusted outlet.
Sutton squares off with a Cleveland secondary that is far worse than recent renditions. The unit is 19th in EPA per pass play and is consistently too aggressive. Sutton should see plenty of volume and is a top-tier captain play.
Bo Nix ($15,000)
The Bo Nix hype train has tripled in size and is flying down the tracks. After struggling mightily early in the campaign, something clicked for Nix, and he’s transformed into one of the league’s more dangerous quarterbacks. It’s not just a hot stretch — it’s a two-month sample size of the University of Oregon product being uber-efficient and dragging a subpar group of weapons into a capable aerial attack.
Nix is averaging 18.7 fantasy points per game, with 13 touchdowns to just two interceptions since Week 6. He’s maximizing possessions and is the team’s primary option in the red zone. Nix hasn’t used his legs much at the pro level but is athletic enough to extend plays and provide an extra boost in the rushing department.
The way he’s playing, the opposition might not even matter. Nix is a superstar in the making and is emerging as a premier DFS weapon.
Nick Chubb ($14,100)
Once the most feared ball carrier in the league, an avalanche of injuries has finally taken a toll on Nick Chubb. Cleveland’s face of the franchise needed surgery on both his MCL and meniscus last season, and he was out of commission for over a year. Since returning to the gridiron, it’s apparent the former All-Pro back has lost a step or two and doesn’t hit the hole with the same burst.
Chubb is still a bruiser and a force to bring down between the tackles. He has a knack for always falling forward and fighting for extra yards. His output hasn’t been spectacular, but he is still difficult to stop in short-yardage situations and near the goal line. Chubb is touchdown-dependent, but all it takes is one for him to produce a serviceable evening.
