Week 13 has been a wild one for the NFL schedule. With three games on Thursday, a game on Friday, we finally conclude with the Browns vs. Broncos Showdown, Monday night. In the beginning of the season, I don’t think I would have been excited for this matchup but now, with how things are, I am. So let’s gets into how I’ll be building my Browns Broncos Showdown lineups on DraftKings.

Captain’s Picks
Bo Nix ($15,000): Nix has been phenomenal lately. In the month of November, he’s averaged 21.3 DKFP, 254 passing yards and eight passing touchdowns. He’s been extremely accurate during that span, posting an adjusted completion percentage of 80%. Now he’ll face a Browns pass defense that’s been torched lately. Over the past month, the Browns have allowed a 71% completion rate, 9.6 yards per attempt and 9.1 air yards per attempt.
While the Browns pass rush has been dominant, this is going to be a tough matchup. Myles Garrett lines up at right edge on 80% of his snaps and will be matched up against T Garrett Bolles. Bolles has allowed just a 5% pressure rate this season, which is one of the lowest in the league. Being able to neutralize Garrett would be huge and give Nix time to throw. Nix has been very well protected this season, as the Broncos offensive line has allowed the 5th-lowest pressure rate in the league. With the recent struggles in the Browns secondary, Nix should thrive in this matchup and be worthy of a Captain pick.
FLEX Plays
Devaughn Vele ($6,400): Naturally, people will gravitate toward Courtland Sutton to pair with Nix. I have no issue with that but I do like playing Vele a lot. He’s a $3,800 discount off Sutton and has been seeing a very healthy share of the targets. He’s averaged 5.2 targets over the past month and scored his first touchdown. Vele plays the majority of his snaps in the slot, accounting for 66% of his time on the field. That’ll put him up against CB Greg Newsome, who covers the slot on almost half of his snaps. When targeted against, Newsome has allowed a 68% catch rate and a massive 15.5 yards per reception. Amongst qualified corners, the 15.5 YPR is the 6th-highest average in the league. Make sure to get Vele in your lineup.
Courtland Sutton ($10,200): You should be able to fit both Sutton and Vele in a lineup with Nix at Captain. In this scenario, you’ll still have an average of $6,133 for the remainder of your lineup.
Sutton has been the top target in this offense after oddly not drawing a target in Week 7 against the Saints. Since then, he’s averaged 9.6 targets over the last five games. He leads all wide receivers in receiving yards over that span with 467 and has a great opportunity to add onto that total. CB Martin Emerson has allowed a 64% catch rate and 13 YPR this season in coverage. He’ll be up against Sutton on a majority of his snaps.

Elijah Moore ($7,800): Jerry Jeudy has been the WR1 in this offense with Jameis Winston ($9,600) under center. However, I’m thinking he’s going to get shadow treatment from CB Patrick Surtain. In coverage, Surtain has allowed a 72% catch rate but only 7.7 YPR and one touchdown. If he does indeed shadow Jeudy, this should have Winston looking toward Moore. Since taking over as the starter, Moore has collected a 21% target share and averaging 11.5 DKFP. It’s a tough matchup against a very good Broncos secondary but I’m not excited to play the Browns running backs, either. Amongst the pass catchers, I would trust Moore over the rest of the field.
Fades
David Njoku ($8,400): After getting past the top tier salary options of Sutton, Nix and Winston, it gets real dicey in this $8-9K range. Njoku is on the cheaper end at $8,400, but I don’t like this spot for him. The Broncos have really stifled opposing tight ends, allowing just 11 DKFP per game to the position. Njoku only has two red zone targets since Winston took over and both came in the last game against the Steelers. Heck, Jordan Akins has three red zone targets with Winston. I think this game has better expensive and cheaper options to roster instead of the cluster of players in this $8-9K range.
