This is a tricky situation, with Isaiah Pacheco returning to action for the Chiefs on Friday. Pacheco is the RB1 when healthy, but has been out since breaking his leg back in Week 2. Having not played in a game for almost three months, you’d expect Pacheco to be eased back into the offense, particularly for a team that wants to preserve its best players for a Super Bowl run in January and February.
DraftKings Sportsbook is essentially calling for split carries here, with Pacheco priced at 43.5 yards and Hunt priced at 44.5 yards. While Pacheco will certainly reassume his RB1 role, potentially as early as next week, I just can’t see him getting to much work on Friday against the Raiders. Kansas City shouldn’t particularly need him in this one, priced as a double-digit home favorite against a dinged up Las Vegas squad.
This seems like a cushy matchup to get more out of Hunt while the Chiefs can, before making a switch back to their original featured back. Hunt has exceed this number in seven of eight games this season, and Vegas is allowing over 127 rushing yards per game on the road this season. Look for Hunt to still lead the backfield for one more week, and likely get the late carries if playing with a big lead.
