Isiah Pacheco is making his long-awaited return to the Chiefs lineup on Friday. Pacheco has not played since Week 2 against the Bengals but is back and ready to roll for this game against the Raiders. Kareem Hunt has done a good job filling in for Pacheco but this is Pacheco’s backfield once he is healthy. There is bound to be a share of carries as Pacheco works his way back up to full game fitness but he is supposed to be ready for a lot of action right off the bat. Despite Pacheco’s absence, the Chiefs rank 7th in offensive EPA/rush and 1st in rushing success rate so Pacheco should immediately find success jumping back in.
Las Vegas ranks 15th in defensive EPA/rush and defensive rushing success rate. That’s about league average so they could hold up against most teams but against this elite Chiefs rushing attack, they could have a lot of issues getting stops. Overall, Las Vegas gives up a lot of points. They rank 28th in opponent offensive touchdowns per game, 24th in opponent red zone touchdown scoring percentage and 30th in opponent points per play. Pacheco should see some goal-line action as the Chiefs move the ball down the field against Las Vegas.
My favorite prop bet for this game is for Pacheco to score a touchdown. Unlike most teams that take whatever they can get, Mahomes and Andy Reid will want to get Pacheco a touchdown in his first game back. They should give him goal-line touches and might even scheme up something creative in the passing game just to ensure that Pacheco finds the end zone in his return. Even just with natural game flow, the Chiefs should have a lead early in this game and have plenty of chances to feed Pacheco as he gets his legs back under him. Pacheco combined for three touchdowns in two games against Las Vegas last season and should get one here as well.
