Ricky Pearsall ($4,800)
It continues to be a whirlwind rookie campaign for Ricky Pearsall. After recovering from his scary off-season incident, the University of Florida product immediately worked into the aerial attack when he returned to health in Week 7. In a crowded pass-catcher room, he was largely a complimentary asset, doing the bulk of his work near the line of scrimmage. With injuries ahead of him on the depth chart, Pearsall saw an extended role, going for 73 yards and a score in a crucial road win against Tampa Bay.
In his last two performances, Pearsall has been invisible, registering two targets but failing to haul in a reception. It’s not like opportunities aren’t there—he logged 59 and 67 percent of the offensive snaps in those contests. His inability to make an impact is concerning, but Pearsall being on the field is promising enough to help him remain on the DFS radar.
The matchup is less than ideal, as the Buffalo secondary has been one of the more impressive units in football this season. Pearsall should see some looks early to get going, and his ability to play on the perimeter and in the slot helps maximize his chances for success against this defense.
Dawson Knox ($4,000)
Dalton Kincaid is out again with a knee injury, which means Dawson Knox will start at tight end. It’s a familiar role for the 28-year-old, who showed plenty of flashes for four years as a mainstay of the passing game. He’s a fluid route runner for his size and is dangerous after the catch. Persistent drops have hurt his standing, but the raw talent has never been lacking.
Knox faces a defense that ranks 10th in EPA per pass play, but that figure is falling with each outing. He’s a force in the red zone and should be in line to see work underneath and near the sticks. He has flashed a solid rapport with Josh Allen and should generate enough targets to put him in a position to outperform his cheap assigned salary.
