Unabated is an industry leader in real-time betting data and profitable sports betting tools. For the NBA season, they created the industry’s first-ever Conditional Projections. Every day, the Unabated NBA team creates projection sets for different scenarios based upon which key players are Questionable on the injury report with massive potential ramifications on the slate.
If you’ve played an NBA slate as a DFS player or prop bettor, you know the deal with the NBA: The injuries are everything. A minute here or there can be the difference between good chalk and bad chalk, quality value or lineup-ruining value, or an over/under winning or losing by the hook.
Every day we have dozens of players marked as Questionable up until game time with their statuses often impacting the edges or microedges you can have. A couple of times each week here on DraftKings Network, I’ll bring you the latest news and information on a few of the players who seem most noteworthy in Unabated’s Conditional Projections.
The Unabated NBA team, led by industry veteran Justin Phan, currently projects Pistons star Cade Cunningham to have a 60% chance to play tonight at the Pacers after he participated in shootaround. There’s still no guarantee Cade goes as he recovers from his sacroiliac joint sprain — just earlier this week, the Clippers’ Norman Powell missed a game following participating in shootaround — but it’s better than a coin toss!
If we assume Cade Cunningham were to play today alongside his fellow Questionable teammate Tobias Harris, Cunningham would project for 23.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 8.4 assists.
If Cunningham misses, he’d have the following impact on his teammates’ projections according to Unabated’s Conditional NBA Projections:
- Jaden Ivey projects for 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.7 assists (18.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists if Cade is in)
- Tobias Harris projects for 16.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists (15 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists if Cade is in)
- Jalen Duren projects for 11 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists (10.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists if Cade is in)
If Cade pushes his holiday break a bit longer, these Pistons would look a lot more interesting for tonight’s DraftKings NBA DFS slate. If Cade is in, these guys are all likely a bit overpriced at their current salaries that reflect the last few games of life with a lot more usage, rebounding, and assists upside without Cade.
