Tyrone Tracy Jr. has had a standout rookie season for the Giants. Despite being a part of a dysfunctional offense, Tracy leads all rookies in rushing yards this season. Tracy came in as the backup to Devin Singletary but has seized control of the starting running back job in New York over the last few weeks. Tracy has been a serious rushing threat but also had his second-best receiving game of the season last week. With Drew Lock in at quarterback, Tracy could see more action through the air. Brian Daboll will want to make things easy on Lock and that should involve quick passes to Tracy and Malik Nabers.
The Cowboys have one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. They rank 32nd in defensive EPA/rush, 28th in defensive rushing success rate and 31st in opponent rushing yards per game. Tracy should get a lot of action against this vulnerable run defense both because it is a favorable matchup and to make things easier on Drew Lock. Additionally, the Giants have some injury issues on the offensive line which is not great against Micah Parsons and the Cowboys’ pass rush. The Giants should lean on the run game where they can more easily compensate for those injuries.
My favorite way to back Tracy is with an anytime touchdown bet. Tracy has been a touchdown machine this season because the Giants’ offense has had so many issues. However, he does have three touchdowns in his past five games, and now that he is getting more work in the passing game, he should have even more opportunities to score. This Cowboys’ defense is dead last in the league in opponent rushing touchdowns per game and Tracy is the next man up to score against Dallas on the ground.
