NFL Thanksgiving Pick6 Plays
Here are my top Pick6 plays for the Thursday NFL games.
Caleb Williams Less Than 0.5 Interceptions
Caleb Williams and the Bears have lost five straight games coming into Thanksgiving. It has not necessarily been because of bad play by Caleb Williams, but he seems to be struggling with his decisiveness. The Bears have had offensive line issues, leading to Williams constantly living in fear of being hit and “seeing ghosts.” During this five-game losing streak, Williams does not have a single interception. That is actually a somewhat negative stat because if you watch Williams play, he is now afraid to take any real risks because of his struggles earlier this season. Williams has had a major issue with taking sacks rather than trying to force a throw. However, that does provide the opportunity to bet on Williams to go a sixth straight game without an interception.
Jared Goff More Than 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
Jared Goff is 5th in the league in passing touchdowns this season and has thrown for two or more touchdowns in 7 out of 11 games. This Bears secondary has solid season-long numbers, but in recent weeks, they have started to break down. After a strong start to the season in Weeks 7-12, the Bears are now 24th in the league in defensive EPA/dropback. Goff should be able to hit some deep shots to Jameson Williams in this game and find his guys like Jahmyr Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Sam LaPorta underneath, allowing them to break off yards after the catch or even all the way for a touchdown. The Lions are the top-scoring offense in the league and Goff should be able to throw for a couple of touchdowns against the Bears on Thanksgiving.
CeeDee Lamb More Than 6.5 Receptions
It has been a frustrating season for CeeDee Lamb with the early season struggles. They’ve only gotten worse since Dak Prescott got injured. However, Lamb had a big last week and helped the Cowboys knock off the Commanders. There was a thought that Lamb’s production would decline dramatically with Cooper Rush, but that has not been the case for the last two weeks. Lamb had eight catches for 93 yards against Houston and 10 catches for 67 yards against Washington. In fact, Lamb has double-digit targets in six straight weeks and now leads the NFL in receptions. The Giants rank 26th in defensive EPA/dropback and 30th in opponent completion percentage. Lamb has had seven or more catches in six of his past seven games and should do so again on Thanksgiving.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. More Than 10.5 Receiving Yards
Tyrone Tracy Jr. has been one of the few bright spots of the Giants’ season so far. The 2024 5th-round pick leads all rookies in rushing yards and has taken over the primary running back role from Devin Singletary. With Tommy DeVito or now possibly Drew Lock at quarterback, Tracy should see an uptick in receiving production. Between Tracy and Singletary, Tracy is the better receiving target because he is much quicker and can make people miss in space. Without Daniel Jones, these less experienced quarterbacks will look to the safety net of the running back in the passing game. That was evidenced last week when Tommy DeVito threw the ball to Tracy four times, and he caught all four targets for 28 yards. That type of receiving production should persist for Tracy against a Cowboys defense that ranks 30th in EPA/play.
Josh Jacobs More Than 72.5 Rushing Yards
Josh Jacobs has been a great addition to this Packers offense and has been playing his best football over the past month. In fact, Jacobs has cleared this rushing total of 72.5 yards in each of his last five games. The Packers have such a dangerous passing threat in Jordan Love, which is beautifully setting up Jacobs to have space to run, and vice versa. Jacobs now ranks 4th in the NFL in carries and 3rd in rushing yards. Matt LaFleur keeps giving Jacobs opportunities to rack up yardage, an opportunity he’s been capitalizing on, especially over the last five games. Miami ranks a league-average 16th in yards per rush attempt allowed. That is good news for Jacobs, who is liable to break one for a huge gain on any given play. Jacobs should clear this number for the sixth straight game on Thanksgiving night.
De’Von Achane More Than 0.5 Rush + Rec TDs
De’Von Achane has become the dominant force in the Dolphins’ backfield. The snaps have been split up over multiple guys all season, but Achane is taking a larger and larger share of the pie every week. Most importantly, Achane is taking most of the red zone snaps, setting him up for opportunities to score touchdowns on the ground and through the air. Achane has scored six touchdowns in his past four games and should get more chances against Green Bay. The Packers rank 16th in defensive EPA/rush and Achane should be able to pick up big chunks on the ground. Green Bay ranks 20th in opponent red zone touchdown scoring percentage. That is an area in which the Dolphins have been good with Tua Tagovailoa on the field this season. Mike McDaniel should scheme up a way to get Achane in the end zone at least once in this game.
