Victor Wembanyama Best Prop Bets for Spurs vs. Lakers

Victor Wembanyama Best Prop Bets for Spurs vs. Lakers

San Antonio Spurs fans came into the 2024-25 season with high expectations for center Victor Wembanyama, the French sensation who won Rookie of the Year and finished second in Defensive Player of the Year honors in his inaugural season. After a rocky first few games, Wembanyama has found his form, becoming one of the most dangerous two-way threats in the league.

In Wemby’s last six games, he has averaged 32.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks while shooting 44% on 12.8 three-pointers per game. This torrid stretch has improved his season averages to 23.6 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks on 34.5% shooting from deep. Spurs fans can expect Wembanyama’s brilliance to continue tonight against an undersized Los Angeles Lakers team that allows opposing teams to score 117.5 points per game.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, San Antonio (+110) is a slight underdog and the point total is set to 228. Below, I’ve highlighted my favorite prop bets centered around the Spurs’ giant man in the middle.

Victor Wembanyama 5+ Three-Pointers Made (+225)

One of the traits that will make Wembanyama the next face of the league is his flair for the dramatic. During the Lakers’ dramatic 120-115 win over the Spurs on November 15, Wemby and Lakers star center Anthony Davis went tit-for-tat down the stretch. With Los Angeles still being one of the league’s marquee teams and rostering its most recognizable player, San Antonio fans can be certain that Wembanyama the showman will be on full display Wednesday night.

Although he went just 4-for-13 from distance in the teams’ previous matchup, I like Wembanyama to do one better on Wednesday. He ranks ninth in the league with 9.3 three-point attempts per game, but he has launched double digit tries from deep in each of of his last five games. Spurs interim head coach Mitch Johnson seems to want Wemby to fire away, and I expect that he will.

Victor Wembanyama U3.5 Blocks (+120)

The Lakers’ small lineup might present head coach JJ Redick with plenty of challenges, but Los Angeles has the potential to neutralize Wembanyama’s greatest strength, his stifling post defense. The Lakers have been blocked just 4.2 times per game, the fourth-fewest in the league. For players who primarily operate from near the basket, Los Angeles stars Davis and LeBron James are relatively good at avoiding blocks, as they both get their attempts swatted just 0.9 times per game on average.

For all of his defensive brilliance, Wembanyama has recorded three or fewer blocks in six of his last seven games, and Spurs fans shouldn’t expect that to change on Wednesday against the Lakers.
