What am I thankful for? A jam-packed eleven-game NBA Wednesday! There’s an overwhelming amount of stars playing, so narrowing down a select group of big names to start in season-long fantasy and DFS formats is no easy task. Here are the three guards at the top of tonight’s board:

1. LaMelo Ball, Charlotte Hornets vs. MIA ($10,300)
LaMelo Ball is becoming a superstar right before our very eyes. The 23-year-old always had massive potential, but he’s taken a leap this season. Through seventeen games, the former All-Star is putting up 31.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists, carrying the Hornets with the league’s highest usage rating (38.8%).
The Heat are a tough opponent, but even they might not have an answer for this dynamic guard. Against an even better Orlando defense on Monday, Ball put up 44 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Over the past week, he’s averaging an eye-popping 67.7 DK fantasy points. Simply put, this is a player that has reached the rare status of ‘matchup-proof.’
2. Kyrie Irving, Dallas Mavericks vs. NYK ($9,600)
Without Luka Doncic, the Mavericks have had to turn to their other elite guard to lead the offense. While he’s not quite the player he once was, Kyrie Irving remains one of the game’s deadliest scorers, still capable of taking a game over by himself. So far, the 32-year-old is stepping up, posting 25.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in his last four games.
The Knicks have been surprisingly porous on the defensive end, giving up 120.3 points in their last three outings. In his last five games against New York, Irving has produced 31.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 7.8 assists, including a 44-point, 10-assist performance last season. Considering the massive volume he’s in store for tonight, the eight-time All-Star is a solid choice tonight.
3. James Harden, Los Angeles Clippers at WAS ($9,000)
There were plenty of worthy names for this spot, including Anthony Edwards and De’Aaron Fox. However, James Harden at a cheaper cost could deliver massive production in your lineups. The former MVP has been terrific this season, averaging 20.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists. For a Clippers team missing Kawhi Leonard, The Beard has been nothing short of a savior, leading the team to an 11-8 record.
Wednesday’s matchup is as good as it gets for guards in the NBA. This season, Washington is giving up the second-most DK fantasy points to the position. In his last five games against the Wizards, Harden has generated 24.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 10.0 assists. There’s no reason not to back him at a slightly reduced price.
