Could Tim Patrick be a value play if Amon-Ra St. Brown sits on Thanksgiving?

Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown ($8,000) is dealing with a knee injury and has been listed as questionable for Thursday’s game vs. the Bears. Plus, the Lions placed Kalif Raymond (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday.

St. Brown ranks ninth in the NFL in target share (28.9%) and if the star receiver is out Thursday, Tim Patrick ($3,500) would jump up Detroit’s depth chart and operate as their WR2 behind Jameson Williams ($6,100).

Patrick has only seen a target on 14% of his routes this season, but that number would grow aggressively if St. Brown is sidelined. Patrick would likely see plenty of work from the slot with both St. Brown and Raymond missing. On top of the expanded role, Patrick draws a terrific matchup vs. the Bears, whose defense is struggling mightily after a hot start to the season.

Over the last three weeks, no defense in the NFL has given up more yards per pass than Chicago (10.0). At 29.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook, the Lions carry the highest implied team total of Week 13 by a solid gap.

Patrick will be a no-brainer punt play for Thursday’s three-game Thanksgiving Day slate if St. Brown sits. He will also be worth picking up in your season-long leagues as a streamer if you need help at wide receiver.
